A Word from the Artistic Director
Olja Jacobs
Belgrade is a city of powerful artistic energy and rich cultural tradition. The idea behind this programme is simple: to create a space where artists and audiences can meet, share music, ideas and creative inspiration. Through concerts, exhibitions, conversations and workshops, we want to show how art can be part of everyday life and a source of personal and collective wellbeing. We invite you to experience these moments of art and creativity together.
About the project
One city. Countless creative worlds.

The programme encourages collaboration between different artistic disciplines and opens new possibilities for creative dialogue between artists and audiences.

Encounter 01
Musical Encounters
The central part of the BUPBAP Festival is formed by concerts presenting an authentic encounter between classical music, contemporary interpretations and interdisciplinary artistic projects. The programme brings together renowned artists, established ensembles and promising young musicians, creating a space for outstanding performance and vibrant artistic exchange.
Each concert is conceived as a complete artistic experience — not merely a performance of music, but an encounter between audience and performers in a dialogue that transcends the boundaries of genres and eras. The goal is to create concert experiences that inspire both discerning audiences and those who are just discovering the world of music.
Encounter 02
Multimedia Artistic Projects
A special part of the festival programme is dedicated to contemporary artistic forms that unite music, movement, visual arts and light design within a single performance. Such projects emerge at the intersection of artistic disciplines — where classical performance meets contemporary technology, and music enters into dialogue with the body, space and light.
Multimedia projects play an important role in bringing art closer to new generations of audiences. Through powerful and innovative artistic experiences, the festival opens a space of encounter between contemporary art and a wider audience.
Encounter 03
Photography and Visual Art
Annual Solo Exhibition
Each year, the BUPBAP Festival organises an original photography exhibition dedicated to a single artist. This programme presents contemporary photographers who explore themes of identity, art, society and culture through their work.
The exhibition becomes a space for an intimate encounter between the public and contemporary visual expression — a place where photography speaks what words cannot. Through this segment, the festival actively contributes to the development of photography as a vital area of creative practice.
Encounter 04
Literary Encounters
The programme includes interactive literary workshops and conversations about books, aimed at audiences of all generations. Through encounters with writers, moderated conversations and creative workshops, audiences gain the opportunity to actively participate in literary creation and the interpretation of contemporary literature.
This segment builds bridges between literature and other artistic disciplines. Music, photography and visual art become a context for new readings and understandings of literary expression, while literature enriches the perception of all other forms of artistic expression.
Encounter 05
Educational Encounters
The BUPBAP Festival gives particular attention to its educational programme for young artists and students of artistic faculties. The aim is to give young talents the opportunity to encounter experienced artists and a professional artistic environment through various forms of work and learning.

Encounter 06
Art and Wellbeing
One of the special segments of the BUPBAP Festival is dedicated to the connection between art, personal development and wellbeing. The festival starts from the idea that creativity and health form a natural whole — that artistic creation emerges from inner balance and personal vitality.
The programme includes workshops, lectures and experiential sessions dedicated to connecting art and personal wellbeing, encompassing systemic constellations, breathing exercises and sound therapy. This approach is not reserved for artists alone — it is intended for all who seek balance between their inner world and outward activity.
Health as a Whole
Mental Health
Systemic constellation workshops and psychoeducational programmes that help in understanding relationships, emotions and inner blockages
Breathing Exercises
Mindful breathing techniques that reduce stress, improve concentration and restore the body to a state of balance
Sound Therapy
Using vibration and sound as tools for deep relaxation, regeneration and awakening of creative potential
Holistic Approach
Integration of the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of health as the foundation for a full and creatively fulfilling life
